Sweet Orange essential oil has a soothing and uplifting nature. It can be used on oily skin and is a warming oil to help you get through the winter months. The fruit alone has many beneficial properties, being tasty and nutritious, containing Vitamins A, B and C.
History
Used in Chinese medicine, sweet orange does not have the lengthy history that many of its counterparts do and may only have been used for a few hundred years.
Source
This evergreen tree, while native to China, is now cultivated around the Mediterranean and in America. The sweet orange variety is smaller and less hardy than its 'Bitter' cousin. It can be extracted by either cold pressing or steam distillation of the peel/ripe.
